Composition:

Pharmacodynamics:
Gedelix Cough Syrup is a herbal medicine that contains the active substance of ivy leaves, a thick extract. The therapeutic effect in inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract is based on the secretolytic, mucolytic and antispasmodic action of glycosidic saponins contained in ivy leaves.

The therapeutic effect is predictably due to irritation of the gastric mucosa, in which the secretory bronchial glands of the bronchial mucosa are reflexively stimulated by sensitive fibers of the parasympathetic system.

Indications:
Symptomatic treatment of cough for colds of the respiratory tract, chronic inflammatory diseases of the bronchi.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug or other plants of the Araliaceae family, deficiency in the body of argininosuccinate synthetase (metabolic disorders in the urea cycle). The drug should not be taken with hereditary fructose intolerance.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions:

Application features:
Since Gedelix Cough Syrup does not contain ethanol and sugar, it can be used by patients with diabetes mellitus. Gedelix Cough Syrup is suitable for the treatment of patients with diabetes. 5 ml of syrup contains 1.75 g of sorbitol (corresponding to 0.44 g of fructose), which is approximately 0.15 XE (XE). 1 XE corresponds to the amount of food products that contain 12 g of carbohydrates. Sorbitol may have a mild laxative effect. Macrogol glyceryl hydroxystearate may cause stomach upset and diarrhea. Simultaneous use with other antitussives, for example, codeine or dextromethorphan, is not recommended without consulting a doctor. Use with caution in patients with gastritis or gastric ulcer.

Application for children 2 – 4 years old, as recommended by a doctor. Prolonged or recurrent cough in children 2 to 4 years old requires medical diagnosis before treatment. If the patient’s condition does not improve, the symptoms persist for a week or shortness of breath, fever, and purulent sputum appear when coughing up, you should immediately consult a doctor.

The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or operating machinery:
There are no studies of the effect on the reaction rate when driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

Application during pregnancy or lactation:
Due to the lack of sufficient data, it is not recommended to use the drug during these periods.

Method of administration and dosage:
Gedelix Cough Syrup should be used undiluted, regardless of food intake, with a sufficient amount of liquid (preferably water).

The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease, but even with a mild course of respiratory diseases, drug treatment should be carried out for at least one week. After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease, treatment should be continued for another 2 to 3 days. The duration of the use of the drug, without consulting a doctor, should not exceed several days.

Shelf life:
5 years.
The shelf life after opening the bottle is 6 months.
During storage, a precipitate may form, when agitated, it causes turbidity.

Storage conditions:
Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
