Loratadine Syrup Indications

Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Contraindications

Loratadine is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the drug.

Dosage & Administration

Adults and children over 12 years take 10 ml of syrup (10mg loratadine) 1 every day.

Children ages 2 years to 12 years weighing more than 30 kg – 10 ml of syrup (10mg loratadine) 1 every day.

Children weighing less than 30 kg – 5 ml of syrup (5 mg loratadine) 1 every day.

It does not require dosage adjustment in elderly people and patients with renal insufficiency.

Patients with severe hepatic impairment should be administered a lower initial dose because of possible reduction in clearance of loratadine (the recommended initial dose – 10 mg every other day).
